As part of its endeavour to encourage meritorious underprivileged art students to pursue higher studies, this year IPCA will offer three scholarships for art students from Odisha to enrol and study for their Master’s in Fine Arts degree from any esteemed institution in India. IPCA MFA Scholarships will cover support for two years for the period of the master’s degree course.
We invite applications from eligible candidates for MFA scholarships for the year 2024-25. For 2024-25, three scholarships will be awarded to outstanding young art students who gain admission in the MFA course — art history / painting / graphics / sculpture at any institution of repute in India. Please note that this scholarship is for MFA studies in institutions outside Odisha.
CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS
- The candidate should be an Indian National and should be an art student from Odisha.
- Annual income of the candidate’s family must be below Rs.5 lakhs.
- This scholarship is for BFA students who apply for and get selected to an MFA degree course in any reputed institution in the country.
- The candidate must initiate the application process on their own.
- Once selected for admission for the MFA degree course, the student can apply for the IPCA scholarship.
- To apply for the IPCA MFA Scholarship 2024-25, a student must submit (i) minimum of 6 or more images of recent artworks on CD or email, (ii) a synopsis about the artist’s vision and the art,(iii) a statement of purpose why she/he wishes to pursue an MFA degree, (iv) at which institute and why, (v) an estimate of the expenditure needed to complete the MFA degree course and (vi) a copy of the family income certificate. - A four member IPCA jury will finalize selection of the students.
- The jury will conduct the selection through two rounds of scrutiny and shortlisting. The shortlisted candidates will then have to make a presentation before the jury. IPCA’s decision on the selection of candidates will be final and binding.
- The selected candidates will be awarded the MFA Scholarship for two years. At the end of the course period, the candidate will submit an album of their artwork from which IPCA will select 2 works for the IPCA collection.
