Workshop for Art Students by Ms. Meena Subramaniam in collaboration with B K College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneshwar, 22nd-23rd February 2017


IPCA organized a two day residential workshop for art students by reputed artist and naturalist Ms. Meena Subramaniam, in collaboration with BK College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneshwar on 22nd-23rd February 2017. The objective of this workshop on Art and Nature was to expose our young art students to new ideas and concepts so as to strengthen their skills and open up their minds to realistic paintings of nature.

Thirty five student particpants were chosen based on recommendations from their respective colleges - BK College of Art and Crafts, Dhauli Art College, Govt. College of Art, Khallikote and Balasore College of Art and Crafts. Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil, Chairperson, IPCA Managing Committee, coordinated the workshop alongside the resource person, Ms. Meena Subramaniam.

Spread over two days, the students worked under the tutelage of Ms. Subramaniam, on new techniques focused on capturing the realism of nature and Odisha’s rich biodiversity, especially avifauna. The artworks created over the two days were then graded for their quality and the top nine canvases were chosen for commendation and prizes. All participants were awarded certificates on behalf of IPCA and BK College of Art and Crafts.
