Art Excursion: Bhopal

Sanchi and Bhopal


Continuing its endeavor to enhance and expand perspective, skills and sensibilities of young emerging artists, IPCA organized a field visit for a team of artists to the World Heritage Sites of Sanchi and Bhimbetka with the objective of having them engaged in plein air watercolor painting on site.

Five artists were selected from B.K College of Arts and Crafts and Utkal University of Culture and the group was led by eminent artist Shri Baladev Maharatha. They spent four intensive days, from 25th Mar'19 to 28th Mar'19 interacting and painting in watercolor at historical locations in Sanchi and Bhimbetka. These works were showcased at IPCA and are now part of the IPCA Collection.
