IPCA's Art Residency programme commenced with a four week long residency designed for BFA graduates working in the field of painting, who are preparing for admission in MFA programmes for the next academic session (2018-2019). The residency named MFA Boot Camp 2018 got underway on 17th May 2018 at IPCA 's residency facilities in Sahid Nagar, Bhubaneshwar. Present at the commencement get-together were patrons, mentors, artists and well-wishers who gathered to mark and share this next step of IPCA's journey.

Online application for the residency was opened on 2nd May 2018 and applications from all parts of Odisha were received. After a thorough examination of the portfolios, five applicants were selected for the residency. The artists come from BK College of Art and Craft, Govt. College of Art and Craft, Khallikote and Bhadrak College of Art and Craft.

The resident artists are in the process of preparing their portfolios and proposals with the help of experienced mentors while they continue to create art works in their medium of choice. The residency program is also designed to brush up basic communication and presentation skills of the artists-in-residence, and enhancing their perspectives, adding to their worldview with exposure to a wide range of subjects from related domains of visual arts.
